The cello's front panel: bow pressure, bow speed, position, body

Built from physics

A cello with no samples: a bow, a string and the measured body of a real cello. A grand piano from hammers, strings and a soundboard.

Light drawn by sound

Sound you can see

Visuals drawn by your sound: oscilloscope light, shader art and kaleidoscopes that move with every note.

A lesson playing in the app

Learn by building

In each lesson, Ned builds a sound or a visual in front of you, inside the app, then stops for you to try.

Your AUv3 plugins, wired like modules

Load the AUv3 synths and effects you already own into the patch. Their notes arrive on a wire, their settings become knobs, and SynthMaker's own generators can play them. New in the beta, with a tutorial.

From the creator of the original SynthMaker

Jorge Costa created SynthMaker for Windows in 2005, a visual way to build synthesizers from modules. This is a new SynthMaker, written from scratch for iPhone, iPad and Mac, with its own audio engine.

Follow along on YouTube, where every tutorial builds an instrument or a visual live in the app.
